Service Area Questions

Do I need a permit to coat a commercial roof here?

That depends on the scope of the job and which office covers the parcel. A straight recoat differs from work that replaces wet insulation or adds equipment curbs.

Nogales roofs go to the city, Patagonia roofs to the town with county plan review, and the unincorporated places to Santa Cruz County, or Pima County for some Amado parcels.

How far out from Nogales do you coat roofs?

We coat roofs in Nogales, Rio Rico, Tubac, Tumacacori-Carmen, Patagonia, and Amado. Those six places along I-19 and SR 82 are the full service area.

Does the location change which coating fits?

The roof matters more than the town. Location shapes the building types, though: more metal barns near Tumacacori-Carmen, more wide low-slope roofs in Rio Rico, more small shop roofs in Tubac and Patagonia.

Is the weather different from town to town?

All six places share the same monsoon season and strong sun. Elevation and terrain shift nighttime temperatures a little, which can change how early coating can start on a given morning.

How do I check which county my Amado parcel is in?

Look up the parcel on the county assessor website. Most Amado parcels are in Santa Cruz County; some at the north end fall in Pima County, which has its own development services office.

Can one inspection cover buildings in two towns?

Yes. Owners with buildings in more than one town can have them inspected on the same trip, with a separate scope written for each roof.
